It’s very inexpensive and I get alert with text and sound of my choice on my phone and by extension my watch. It has a simple rest API. https://pushover.net/

It’s free for limited (but generous) personal use, very timely, and keeps a log of notifications. It’s really a great tool and I’m grateful to the developer for keeping it free (note that IFTTT is starting to charge).
